All Players Contract Years

Re-Signing Your Own Free Agents In Their Contract Year
Each team is able to submit a list of three upcoming free agents who they want to re-sign. If you want to resign a player like Shawn Merriman, you do something like arbutration in baseball. There will be a 3 man panel (HoT, HoR, PR) that all set a number of points that would be fair to resign him. The team user will get the option to resign him for those points or let him become a free agent.

So lets say Shawn Merriman is worth 10 points right now, when he comes up for signing, the 3 man panel would say it would cost 18 points ( and 5 years) to resign him. That means it will cost you 8 points to resign him (because 18-10= The Charger's user would have the option to do that or not.

Recieving Points
For each offseason, teams will recieve only the amount of points from players they have in free agency. So if a team has 10 free agents and the total value of those free agents is 65 points then the team recieves 65 points that offseason. Points DO carry over.

Also, to help out losing teams, free points will be given out.
0-5 wins: 12 free points
6-10 wins: 8 free points
11-16 wins: 4 free points

Signing Free Agents
You sign free agents using however many free agent points you have. Once an offer is made to a free agent teams will have 48 hours to send their own offer. After the 48 hours the free agent will go to the highest bidder. There is no minimum or maxium that free agents can get. For instance, even though Plaxico Burress is valued at 7 points on the chart he could sign with a team for 15 points. And he could also go for 5 points. The market dictates the values of free agent. However the value chart shows how much a player is really worth. This is how you can overpay for free agents or get a steal. Best idea is to follow the chart as close as possible. Keep in mind that you want the best players to be the highest paid.

Also, newly signed free agents will not be able to be traded within the same year they were signed.

Newly Signed Free Agent Contract Length

Players Rated ...

99-95: Six Year Contract
94-85: Five Year Contract
84-76: Four Year Contract
75-68: Three Year Contract
67-56: Two Year Contract
55-Below: One Year Contract

Veteran Players (30 years old and above)
99-85: Three Year Contract
84-70: Two Year Contract
69-Below: One Year Contract

Rookies
All new rookies will just follow the same contract rules as newly signed free agents. They will also abide by the player point value. So Kenny Britt who is rated a 79 will be worth 4 points (for four years).

Releasing Players
When a team releases a player they will only recieve the the amount of points the player is worth. For example, if a team signs Plaxico Burress to 20 points and later chooses to release him they will only recieve 7 points for releasing him. This will keep teams from signing players to rediculous amounts.

If a team resigns a player below his market value that team will only recieve how much they payed for him. For example if Chris McCalister signs with a team for 5 points (which is below his market value) and later decides to release him they will only recieve 5 points for releasing him.

Retired Players
When a player under contract retires his point value is wiped from your books. In other words you recieve however many points he is worth based on the value chart.

How the RC Will Keep Everything Organized
Each team is asked to create a thread labeled "Team Salary" in their seperate team pages. The RC will then post each team's contracts and the thread will be locked. Each page will be updated every week. However, we ask each member keep track of their moves as well.

The RC will also have a thread that lists every transaction. This will help us keep track with all transaction history.
